Vivid Laser Centre

Vivid Laser Centre was purpose built for every form of vision enhancement. We are accredited through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, and offer a complete refractive surgical service, from cataract surgery, corneal transplants, implantable contact lenses, refractive lens exchange, to laser surgery, all in our facility. Most laser clinics focus exclusively on one treatment method; namely corneal laser surgery (PRK and Lasik). By performing all of the different forms of vision correction we have eliminated any bias towards only one form of treatment, allowing us to concentrate on your needs, not ours. We will be happy to customize the plan that is the most appropriate for you.

Bio:
Dr. Baldassare is the only cornea specialist in the Okanagan, and the only surgeon with a fellowship in Refractive Surgery in the Okanagan. He has practiced laser refractive surgery since 1994, and has been in Kelowna since 1995. He was awarded the J. W. McConnell Scholarship for his medical studies at McGill University, where he also obtained his specialty training in ophthalmology. He then specifically trained in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, where some of the first FDA studies of Lasik surgery were conducted. He is involved in clinical research, is a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, and has presented his research at that the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting. He is frequently asked to give presentations, most recently for the BC College Of Family Physicians (2008) while in 2006, he was asked to lecture at the national level to the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

What we offer

We offer both corneal refractive surgery [LASIK, PRK] and intraocular refractive surgery. Intraocular refractive surgeries include implantable contact lenses, refractive lens exchange, toric lens implants, accommodating lens implants, and multifocal lens implants.
