LASER EYE TREATMENTS

What Makes Us Different?

Vivid Laser offers numerous treatment options and procedures. We are experts in both corneal refractive laser eye surgery [SBK LASIK, PRK] and intraocular refractive lens procedures [multifocal, toric, Extended Depth of Focus lenses]. Contact us today for a Free Consultation.

Eye Treatment

Lasik

LASIK is a procedure that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, and can reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses or contact lenses afterwards. It is the most common type of vision correction surgery and works by reshaping your cornea under a thin flap to focus light entering your eye to a single point, making your vision clearer and sharper. Vision is usually restored within 24 hours with minimal discomfort.

Eye Treatment

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)

PRK is a procedure similar to LASIK, with reshaping of your cornea performed on the corneal surface, rather than under a flap. PRK is usually done when you are not a candidate for LASIK, as healing and vision improvement takes place more slowly, usually over weeks, rather than hours (compared to LASIK).

Eye Treatment

Clear Lens Extraction (CLE)

Clear Lens Extraction is a procedure that involves exchanging your out of focus natural lens for an artificial one that restores the proper focus for clear vision. As the lens ages and becomes harder and loses its focusing ability, CLE becomes the preferred choice for many individuals over 45 years of age who want visual freedom from glasses or contact lenses.

Eye Treatment

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is simply a cloudy natural lens. When a cataract clouds your vision and interferes with your normal activities, cataract surgery may be necessary. This surgery involves exchanging your cataract with an artificial lens that is clear. This restores crisp vision while the new artificial lens implant will remain clear for life.

Eye Treatment

Monovision

After the age of 45, everyone’s natural lens becomes harder, reducing our ability to focus up close, a condition known as presbyopia. This is a natural aging process and has nothing to do with being nearsighted or farsighted. Monovision is a procedure that allows those experiencing presbyopia to regain both near and distance vision without glasses or contacts. With monovision, one eye is corrected for distance and the other for near. This works very well for those who accept this new way of seeing. We always allow candidates to preview monovision with a temporary trial of contact lenses simulating monovision to ensure this new visual arrangement.

Eye Treatment

Multifocal / Extended Depth of Focus Lenses Implants

With cataract surgery or Clear Lens Implantation, the natural lens is removed and needs to be replaced. The new lens implant comes in many varieties. Single focus lenses are the most commonly used lens implants, and focus light to a single point. This results in good distance vision, with glasses required for all other distances (computer, reading). Multifocal or Extended Depth of Focus lenses focus light both near and far, producing good distance and near vision without the use of glasses. Multifocal or Extended Depth of Focus lenses are useful for those who desire freedom from glasses or contacts after cataract surgery or clear lens implantation surgery.
